Nike re-unites McIlroy and Woods in new Wieden+Kennedy Masters campaign

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are the two big beasts in Nike’s golf line-up but poor Tiger, beset by injuries and other ‘issues,’ has been a pussy cat recently despite his 14 majors.

McIlroy (four majors but yet to win the Masters) is the favourite for this year’s tournament at Augusta, which begins on Thursday. Woods, although he’s dropped out of the top 100 rankings, is back in the field. Woods is still the biggest draw for TV viewers, apparently.

So Nike agency Wieden+Kennedy has made this nice documentary-type film featuring the two, not head-to-head but showing the young McIlroy being inspired by watching Tiger on the telly.

Saves embarrassment all round, not least by eschewing dialogue.
