Kinetic global CEO Steve Ridley (pictured) has promoted David Payne from CEO Americas to chief development officer – global, a new post. Payne is being replaced by David Krupp and Tanza Bove who become joint presidents of Kinetic USA. Krupp and Bove have been with Kinetic USA since its launch.
Kinetic has also hired Aegis executive Christian Scholz as CEO of Kinetic Group Germany which includes offices in Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg and Munich.
The moves follow last year’s appointment of Andy Jonesco, formerly of AOL. to CEO Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2011.
Ridley says: “These appointments confirm that Kinetic is well placed to adapt to change in the exciting world of communications and media in the years ahead. They represent a combination of strong succession planning across our global and local businesses, whilst ensuring we can attract a fresh perspective from outside the out of home industry to help tap into the changing demands facing our clients and businesses globally.”
Under Ridley and previous boss Eric Newnham (now an investor in rival UK out of home agency Talon plus other media businesses) WPP-owned Kinetic has reinvented itself from a poster buying agency to a company whose activities span mobile and experiential marketing as well as outdoor.
