With all the stuff about Spain’s economy hogging the headlines it’s easy to forget about the plight of Greece.
But big Greek telecoms company OTE and UK marketing agency OgilvyAction have been trying to drum up business for Greek SME companies (a big target for OTE in its home market) with a long-running TV campaign in Greece trying to boost exports (see below) and now a poster site near London’s iconic Tower Bridge. The campaign’s called ‘Business Double Play.’
The London site is a prime property (with the Olympics and all that) but OTE has handed it over to a collection of Greek SMEs to plug their wares. There’s a rather creaky video of the digital posters here. High res pictures of the posters were sent back to the Greek companies (about 8,000 altogether) as soon as their ads went up.
Here’s the TV campaign which, for some reason or other, reminds me of those old CDP ads featuring George Cole and the like – although, Greek not being my strong suit, I can’t tell if the jokes are as good.
