That irritating EDF cuddly mascot has made another appearance, this time with a Hollywood musical backing troupe to broadcast that EDF, an Olympic sponsor, has bagged loads of tickets which it’s giving away to customers in a rewards scheme.
This is classic consumer marketing, the ad is by those masters of the art AMV/BBDO I presume, but strikes a sour note. One, EDF (a French company) is notorious for sticking it to British energy users with unreasonably high prices; two, it’s just selling back tickets to the Brits that they should have got in the first place.
Never trust an energy company, especially one with a cuddly mascot.
