Grey boosts Latin America creative line-up with Santo’s Lucas Panizza

Santo Buenos Aires creative director Lucas Panizza is joining WPP-owned Grey as ECD of Grey and integrated shop G2, a further sign of the huge investment pouring into Latin American agencies in advance of the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

The region is also performing much better than most of the rest of the global economy and South American agencies like Del Campo Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi with Sony and Santo itself with Nestle have been winning global briefs for the first time. Ogilvy & Mather this week announced it was to set up a new agency in the region, David, named after founder David Ogilvy.

Panizza is one of the region’s stars, beginning his career at VegaOlmosPonce and putting in stints at DDB, Del Campo and Ogilvy before Santo. Among many others, he has worked on Del Campo’s Cannes award-winning Andes beer, Coca-Cola, Sprite and Head & Shoulders (below).
