It had to come, Twitter makes its debut in an above the line commercial with a new ad for the February launch of Citroen’s new DS5, a hybrid sporty hatchback cum estate car. A bit of a hybrid everything then.
Euro RSCG Amsterdam and creative studio Perfect Fools have devised a Twitter Race offering the new car as a prize if contestants can direct the car to their location, using just 140 characters of course.
The commercial itself is roughly what you’d expect from a car commercial, Twitter or no Twitter. But Havas-owned Euro RSCG will earn plenty of brownie points with Euro RSCG and Havas boss David Jones, who’s determined to make Havas the ‘go to’ company for advertisers keen to boost their social media profile.
