You’d think that Maurice Levy’s Publicis Groupe already had enough digital media agencies with Digitas, Razorfish and two acquisitions this year in Rosetta Marketing Group and Big Fuel.
But Levy (pictured), an IT expert himself in the days when computers were rather larger than they are now, is clearly determined to dominate this area (in competition with arch rival Sir Martin Sorrell’s WPP chiefly) and so Publicis Group is opening another digi agency, CRM365.
The new agency, to be headed by former Digitas CMO Seth Solomons, will specialise in mobile ads and social media and offer three proprietary products, involving data capture, analytics and the current buzz product ‘real time’ ad management.
CRM365 will launch with 45 people in New York and then be rolled out to the UK, France and Germany.
