Google has added UK creative indie Mother to its collection of UK ad agencies according to Marketing Week’s Pitch.
The search and online advertising giant already employs Bartle Bogle Hegarty and M&C Saatchi from the UK on its global roster, which makes you wonder a bit why it needs another one.
The company is hardly a big advertiser, Adbrands doesn’t register any spending at all.
So is this just a PR exercise for Google which is fighting hard with Facebook and that company’s new Facebook Studio for the attention of ad agency creatives?
Google is certainly rich enough to throw a few billable projects at these agencies without going to the bother of a proper campaign.
Nice work if you can get it I suppose.
