Yellow Pages is now Yell (gone digital naturally) and it’s taken the brave step of remaking one its classic old commercials, from Abbott Mead Vickers in 1983.
Remakes are always a danger of course, although they happen more in films or telly series than commercials.
The new ad is by Rapier, which was brave to take on the challenge as it’s hardly viewed as the modern equivalent of the celebrated David Abbott-era AMV.
Anyway, here’s Rapier’s.
And here’s old JR.
It’s JR for me although the piano soundtrack sounds like Elton John on a very bad day.
